Missions
At Embrace Ministry, we are committed to spreading the love of Christ beyond our walls. Through financial support and prayer, we partner with missionaries around the world to share the gospel and serve communities in need.
Yo El Lee, Tanzania
Hello,
My name is Yo El Lee, and I have the privilege of serving as a Christian missionary in Morogoro, Tanzania since 2017. Though I was born in California, I like to say that I come from the beautiful state of Virginia, which I consider home.
When I was just 10 years old, the Lord called our family to the mission field in Tanzania. That calling deeply shaped my life and continues to guide my journey today. I attended Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school in Kijabe, Kenya, where I grew up alongside many children of fellow missionaries. After high school, I went on to graduate from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and later earned my law degree from Handong International Law School in Pohang, South Korea.
I practiced corporate law in Seoul for several years before being called once again—this time to return to Tanzania as a missionary. I was commissioned by the Global Mission Society of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea and received by the Korea Church Mission (T) to serve in Tanzania.
Since then, I've been blessed to serve in various roles, including as the school manager of a Christian co-educational boarding middle school operated by our mission. I also teach Bible Knowledge and serve as Director of After School Programs, where we nurture students through sports, arts, home economics, and discipleship training.
In addition to my school responsibilities, I serve as the Chairman of the Registered Trustees of Korea Church Mission (T) and as Director of Legal Affairs, supporting 13 missionary family units and overseeing ministry operations across the country—including matters of administrative, immigration, real estate, and taxation law.
As a lay missionary, my heart is in helping our teams thrive in their calling, especially those serving in rural church planting and outreach to marginalized communities in the Morogoro region. I also have the joy of lecturing at Calvin Theological College in Kibamba, Dar es Salaam, where we help prepare future pastors, evangelists, and church leaders for gospel ministry across Tanzania.
